However, the City of Miami Beach Land Development Regulations (Chapter 142, Article IV, Division 3, Sec. 142-1111) prohibit
Short-term rentals for periods of less than six months and one day in single family homes and other multifamily residential buildings located in certain areas of the City.
Approved vacation/short-term rentals
Approved vacation/short-term rentals have the proper authorization and zoning approvals and have obtained a Business Tax Receipt to operate. If a building or unit is found to be operating a short-term rental illegally, the tenants/visitors will be evicted and fines assessed against the owner.
